名词作主语时的主谓一致

　　(1)某些集体名词(如 family/team/crew/crowd/company/class/committee/population 等)作主语时，如果作为一个整体看待，谓语动词用单数形式;如果强调每个个体，谓语动词用复数形式。

　　例如：

　　The whole family are music lovers.

　　全家人都热爱音乐。

　　His family was very poor when he was a child.

　　当他还是孩子的时候家里很穷。

　　(2)有些以-s 结尾的名词如 news，以及学科名称如 politics，physics，mathematics 等，书刊名、国家名、组织名等专有名词作主语，谓语动词要用单数形式。

　　The United States was founded in1776.

　　美国成立于 1776 年。

　　Physics is very interesting. We all like it.

　　物理很有趣，我们都喜欢它。

　　(3)当名词词组中心词为表示度量、距离、金额、时间等复数名词时，往往可以根据意义一致的原则，把这些复数名词看作一个整体，谓语用单数形式。

　　例如：

　　Three days is far from enough to finish the work.

　　要完成这项工作 3 天远远不够。

　　Twenty years is a long time.

　　二十年是一段很长的时间。
